    Professional High School of Tourism – Gabrovo was founded in 1963  as a Vocational School of Catering.

    Throughout its existence, the school has constantly developed and adapted its professions, courses and forms teaching  to the requirements of the labour market.

    This is the reason why the school changed its name in 1993 into Hotel and Catering Secondary School and later in 2003 it is already Professional High School of Tourism.

        During the school year 2009/2010 in the school there are 561 students divided into 23 groups. They have day classes and are enrolled in ten competitive and mobile courses:

	Tourist Animation – admittance after successfully completed 7th grade with intensive course in English or German.
	Tour guiding – admittance after successfully completed  7th grade, with intensive course in English or German.
	Tourism Management - admittance after successfully completed 7th grade with intensive course in English or German – part of the Bulgarian –Austrian Educational Project.
	Economics and Management - admittance after successfully completed 7th grade with intensive course in English or German – part of the Bulgarian –Austrian Educational Project
	Catering  – admittance after successfully completed 7th grade with intensive course in English or German
	Tourism and Leisure Activites Organization – admittance after successfully completed 7th grade with intensive course in English or German
	Hotel Organization – admittance after successfully completed 8th grade
	Hotel and Service Organization - admittance after successfully completed 8th grade
	Pruduction and Service in foodservice and entertainment establishments - admittance after successfully completed 8th grade
	Confectionery Production - admittance after successfully completed 8th grade

School Philosophy

    Professional High School of Tourism has always been looking for international contacts. It is one of the three pilot schools in Bulgaria in which there the course "Tourism Management" has been introduced as a part of Bulgarian - Austrian Educational Project with emphasis on  the sphere of tourism, foreign languages, information technologies and communications.

    From the school year 2004/2005 the school takes part  in a new Bulgarian - Austrian educational Project - local tourism, which will be finished in October 2007.
