Of “Pencho Semov” High School of Tourism 

1960/1961 – The Ministry of Education and Culture founded a catering course in the school of clothes design in Gabrovo. 37 students were admitted.

 

3rd May 1963 – Under a government decree ¹168 of 26th September 1962, a Vocational School of Catering was established. Two courses enrolled in specialties: Food Technology and Waiter, and two courses Vocational Technical School - specialty Assistant – Cook.

 

1964/ 1965 – VSC moved to the old building of Hristo Botev school. An evening course of Food Technology specialty entered it.

 

1970/1971 - Extramural form of tuition was launched.

 

1973/1974 – On 26th September 1973, the first sod was turned to signal the start of construction of a new building, being now a complex of 22da in Radichevetz area.

 

5th February 1979 was the first school day in the new building.

 

15th September 1979 – The new building opened its doors officially.

 

21st September 1981 – Hotel Restaurant Panorama opened.

 

1988/1989 – On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the Council of State issued a decree ¹1358 of 18.10.1988 awarding the Vocational School of Catering the order of “Cyril and Methodius” – 2nd class.

 

1993/1994 – New specialties were initiated: Economics, Management and Finances of Trade with a four-year period of education and  Hoteliering  (Secondary Vocational Technical School)  (SPTS)

               

1994/1995 – By order ¹ÐÄ-14-32 / 20.05.1994 VSC was renamed to Vocational School of Restauranting  and Hoteliering. New courses were admitted: Technology and Management of Production and Service in Foodservice Establishments, and Hotel Management.

 

1996/1997 – VSRH became a member of “Gabrovo” Tourist Association which is a part of “Stara Planina” Association. The school achieved the recognition of National Employment Agency for training unemployed people.

 

1997/1998 – The school was allowed to start tuition in Economics and Marketing. The first in the region student co-operation of “Edinstvo” was founded. Panorama Hotel was enlisted in the Catalog and guide for tourism in Bulgaria.

 

2003 – Under the terms of Professional Education and Training Law, the Vocational School of Restauranting  and Hoteliering became a professional high school.

 

2008 – Since then, by order ¹ ÐÄ-14-150 of 28.05.2008, “Pencho Semov” High School official anthem has had a solid place in its life.
