On 9^th May 2008 was the 45^th anniversary of Professional High school of Tourism in Gabrovo. In relation with the jubilee on 10^th April 2008 the Pedagogical Council opted for choosing Pencho Semov – the Bulgarian Rocfeller –for patron of the school. With order № RD-14-150 from 28^th May 2008 the Minister of Education and Science ratified the pedagogical council proposal. On 9^th May at 14.00 the culinary exhibition was opened in from of the Aprilov Palauzov Library and the celebration went on with a concert in the House of Culture.

From 16^th to 19^th April 2008 a seminar with subject “Entrepreneurship basis” was held in Stara Zagora. On behalf of the Professional High School of Tourism took part the following teachers – Tatyana Baeva, Darinka Hristova, Pepa Ilcheva and Penka Peneva, the seminar lecturer

The two banquet halls were refitted and equipped with money granted by the Ministry of Education and Science and Kulture Kontact – Austria. The hotel will start accommodating guests in May.

In March 2008 Olympiads in Mathematics, History and Civilization, Geography and Economics were held.

On 29^th March 2008 Miriana Krasimirova Marianova - VIII A class, specialty “ Economics and Management”, Ioanna Bojidarova Gencheva, - IX B class, specialty “Tourism Management” and Radoslav Valentinov Denev – XII class, specialty” Tourism Management” took part in the National contest In English Language of the Cambridge schools Association in Sofia.

On 28^th and 29^th March 2008 Mariana Krasimirova Kuncheva from XI A class, Specialty “ Economics and Management” took part in the “Innovations and Entrepreneurship” skills contest.

On 23^rd March 2008 in the high school was held the Regional Round of Geography and Economics Olympiad. Eight students took part in it. Georgi Antonov Nachev from XI A class, specialty “Economics and Management” ranked first and went further to the National Round.

On 18^th March 2008 students from XI A class, specialty “Economics and Management” and from XI B, specialty “Tourism Management” participated in the Manager for a day Initiative, organized by Juniar Achievemnt, Bulgaria.

On 14^th and 15^th March 2008 the school training companies” EtnoART” and “Implast” of the students from XI A class, specialty “Economocs and Managament”, took part in the fair of the school training companies in Plovdiv.

On 28^th February 2008 Tzvetan Ivanov Kosev from XII V class, specialty “Hotel Organozation” is placed in the third position in the Regional Essay Contest on the subject “Bulgaria resurrected again in the world history 130 years ago”

On 23^rd February 2008 the Regional Competition for best cook, waiter and barman took place in the Professional High School of Tourism. Ten teams from the North Central Region took part. Representatives from the Professional High School of Tourism ranked:

- second for best young waiter – Galina Marinova Dimitrova – XII G class, specialty “Production and Service in Foodservice and Leisure Establishments”

- third for best young cook – Neli Bojinova Bojinova from XII E class, specialty “Production and Service in Foodservice and Leisure Establishments”

- third for best barman – Petar Tzankov Tzviatkov from XII V class, specialty “Hotel Organization”.

On 16^th February 2008 A Regional Competition for best young confectioner and baker was held in Veliko Turnovo. 12 teams from the North Central Region took part under the auspices of the Ministry of Educatuion and Science. Representatives from the school ranked

- first for best baker – Zlatko Stefanov Vegenov from XII E class, speciality “Bread, baker and Confectionary production” instructed by Parashkeva Boeva.

On 28^th and 29^th January 2008 the principal of the school Diana Ivanova participated in a new Bulgarian Austrian Educational Project “Entrepreneurship”. The event took place in Finances and Economy High School in Sofia

On 25^th and 26^th January 2008 Diana Ivanova, the principal of Professional High School of Tourism participated in a seminar, organized by Bulgarian Teacher Union. The main question to be discussed was ”Delegated Budgets” with lecturers from the Ministry of Education and Science.

Matriculations – information January 2008

On 8^th December 2007 Professional High School of Tourism became part of Wireless Points Project of the Ministry of Education and Science.

On 29^th and 30^th October 2007, Finance and Economics High School, Sofia - Bulgarian-Austrian Educational Project is closed.

On 25th October 2007 Conference on Local Studies was held , dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the Bulgarian Local Studies.

The jury placed at the first position the works of the students of Professional High School of Tourism and counted them in the program of the National Conference on Local Studies in the town of Dobrich on 23-24 November

On 24^th October 2007 Diana Ivanova participated in General Meeting of Cambridge Schools Association. Professional High School of Tourism is a member of the Association.
